In 2022, I began experimenting with techniques to grow limestone from chemicals and waste materials.
Objects and raw material are grown in saltwater in an electro-chemical process that parallels the origin of life in the ocean. The system is designed to be zero waste, circular, and ultimately carbon-neutral.
The emerging forms are tests of limestone’s physical limits as well as echoes of their underwater growth and local environment.
